Chan Chi Hong 02/03 (Hong Kong Top Footballer)
"We frequently meet foreign football players or coaches, like my teammates Butt, Kezman and Schutz. I wish I could chat with them and have more in-depth communication. This is why I learn English. The consultants of Englishtown let me know the aspects I need to improve upon most and arrange the different stages of learning for me. This makes learning a lot more effective. Besides, during the 24-hour online English Virtual Classroom (EVC), the native speaker teachers correct my mistakes on the spot. At the same time, I can learn more about the world, the life and culture of other countries by studying together with students all over the world. This really opens up my horizon."

Uno Yeung - Firefighter
"I am deeply interested in English and prefer the active learning modes (compared to Hong Kong's education system) of the west. Having been a firefighter for 6 years, I must improve my English in order cope with the interviews, report writings and communication to qualify for the promotion to the supervisory level. Hong Kong people are usually afraid of speaking English in public. Englishtown's interactive courses tackle this problem. The online English Virtual Classroom (EVC) helped me to build up my confidence to speak English. My listening ability is also improved through listening to the different accents of students from other countries. On the other hand, teachers correct my grammatical and pronunciation mistakes directly in the Face-to-Face Lessons and workshops in centres. Teachers also teach the skills of English speaking, for example, teacher Marie teaches public speaking skills, and teacher Ku-Ku teaches negotiation skills, etc.. Lastly, in Life Club events, I learned skills besides English like body language and English manners (social etiquette) or how to speak in public confidently. It also creates a fun and easy English learning environment. These are all very useful in our daily lives. I will always remember well and promise myself that I should learn English with a hundred percent effort and concentration because high English proficiency makes oneself more professional."

Lydia Fan - Marketing Executive
"As a marketing executive, English proficiency is extremely important. However, my heavy workload does not allow me to attend scheduled lessons on time. Englishtown¡¦s online learning platform provides a brand-new English learning mode, thus I am able to arrange my time at ease. It also allows me to communicate with teachers and students from different countries and to learn about their cultures. Moreover, I can practice my spoken English with teachers and classmates during the Face-to-Face classes and workshops. By participating in Life Club activities, I met many new friends and that increases my confidence in speaking English. I suggest students to read more books and watch more television programmes in English, or try to chat with native English speakers. These are the best ways to learn English."

Kent Ho - Civil Engineer
"To pass the examinations of becoming a civil engineer, I need to use English for the tons of report and thesis writings. Yet, my busy work restricted me from attending English classes in centres. My teacher, Will Yeung, suggested me to use half an hour everyday for study and to try my best to join the Life Club activities. After some time, I showed apparent improvements with my English. Life Club's activities are very practical and interactive. I had the opportunities to encounter some activities I have never tried before. The most unforgettable experience was a "Floral Design" social activity. I did not only learn the skills of arranging flowers, but also some new vocabularies related to the activity. I even gave my final art piece to my wife as a surprise gift. The social activities have widened my horizon. I met new friends and have new topics for chatting. Now, when I'm playing "Facebook", I chat with my classmates in English. I have successfully passed the professional examinations now. My goal this year is to learn more commercial English."

Boris Lee
"Learning English in Englishtown is just like living in a foreign country because you need to keep speaking English and you'll meet a lot of English teachers of different nationalities here. After a period of time, I learnt various English accents and their culture. Also my English writing, listening and speaking skill has seen a significant improvement. The most memorable thing is I needed my supervisor to proofread the emails I sent to foreign customers in the past, but now he lets me deal with them alone. And now I have more daily life topics to share with foreign customers, which has made our relationship better, so my work is smoother than before too!"

Terry Tsai
"There is only one way to improve English - keep practising! Englishtown is a place which provides lots of opportunities, including online conversation classes, F2F classes, workshops and Life Club events, for you to interact with native English teachers and apply your English. The different types of class have their own advantages. For example, the resources and teaching materials in the online school are more comprehensive than other English schools. And the Pronunciation Lab can help you to learn a native English accent and correct the problem of "Chinglish". On the other hand, Life Club events are interesting and diverse, which make the learning process funnier by putting English in games.
It's important for working adults to learn English aggressively so as to increase their competence. Therefore, I utilise my time after work by taking lessons or doing exercises. That's why I have moved up two levels in two months! Now when I talk to my colleagues from foreign countries, I speak English with more confidence and our conversation is smoother than before!"
